Audio Design Intern - Battlefield 2042

[Nov 2021]

In Battlefield 2042, I had the task of creating and implementing audio for Character and Open Gadgets including the EIDOS, Spawn Beacon and grenades as well as some Vehicle Gadgets.

I also was responsible for a lot of the various items and events within the Hazard Zone (HZ) game mode. This included designing audio emitters for specific world items unique to HZ, as well as crafting sounds for HZ gadgets and intense moments when satellites descended through the atmosphere and crashed onto the map revealing objectives for the players.

Audio Designer - Need For Speed Unbound

[Nov 2022]

Throughout development of Unbound I was able to work in most areas of the game from UI and World audio to Vehicles and VFX.

During the development process, my primary focus however was on enhancing the Sense of Speed in the game. Specifically, I made significant contributions to Static Passby's, which encompasses the audio experience when zooming past trees, lampposts, and other objects, as well as driving under bridges and through tunnels.

After Unbound had shipped, I was one of the main contributors to its live service content with new audio cosmetic items as well as supporting new game modes and social features.

Audio Designer - Star Wars JEDI Survivor

[Apr 2023]

For Jedi Survivor, Criterion Joined the team at Respawn towards the end of production, so my main contributions mostly consisted of Environmental Spot Sounds & Ambience Beds for a variety of levels, including Coruscant, Jedha and the ISB Imperial Base.

I was also able to work on Cal's and Cere's shared force pull ability as well as a couple of Droid vocalisations and servo sounds, one of which being a certain DJ Droid.

About

Me

I am a 24-year-old from Abergavenny in Wales, currently working as an Audio Designer in Guildford, England. I have experience with the game audio development pipeline from conception through to implementation on projects such as;

Battlefield 2042, Need For Speed Unbound and Star Wars - Jedi Survivor.

I'm enthusiastic about inventive audio, storytelling, and immersive design with an equal passion for our craft's creative, technical, and cooperative aspects. I am currently aiming to become a game audio generalist, as I believe that knowing more about multiple areas within the audio discipline, can lead to a more understanding team and more efficient communication between team members. This is why I put a large amount of value on allowing opportunities to learn during production and sharing knowledge among the team.

I have a strong interest in productivity tools like Notion, Arc, and Reader, along with other tools and their potential to enhance team efficiency. I have also been building my own Eurorack system to further my sound design toolkit and skills outside of the box and am excited to explore the world of Modular Synths.
